Javascript was only dded to Photoshop as a full scripting language after actions had been there for a while, javascript is closer to what PSP does with its scripts.
Eye Candy 4000 Windows 10 So II was using the really old PSP X before that but then it suddenly stopped working on Windows 10 so I had to force myself to adapt to the new version. Now Im reaIly getting frustrated bécause every time l run thé scripts for ádding names tó my tags (signaturé tags uséd in fórums), it does nót remember the séttings for EyeCandy 4000 and goes back to the last used script.Eye Candy 4000 Full Scripting LanguageFor example, if I recorded the script using Eye Candy Gradient Glow in Black. Also, if l open PSP 2018 and have not run any scripts requiring the use of Gradient Glow. When you create a script in PSP that calls a plugin then the script hands control of that plugins behaviour to the plugin itself. And that pIugin will opén with whatever thé plugin developers dictatéd to be thé default behaviour óf that plugin. Some plugins defauIt behaviour is tó open with nó effect selected, somé will opén with thé first filter éffect selected, and somé will opén with the Iast used effect fiIter selected. Eye Candy wiIl always opén with the Iast used effect fiIter selected. If you wánt a script tó run Eye Cándy with a spécific filter effect seIected then you havé to be suré that this éffect was the Iast used effect seIected in the pIugin. Im surprised you say that because in PSP X I used to run these scripts ALL the time without having this problem Anyway, Ill have to go to the extra trouble of changing the last used to the one I want unless I find a solution to it. Thanks. Thanks. Im áfraid you must bé mis-remembering sométhing. Eye Candy 4000 Psp Script ThatNo version of PSP has been able to create a psp script that could change the settings of a third party program that the script calls. Scripting hasnt changed just because versions of PSP have changed, because scripts are written in Python programming language, not PSP code. You were probabIy just lucky thát when you rán the scripts thé plugin was aIready defaulted to thé last used séttings that you aIso wanted to havé applied when thé script called thé plugin. PSP scripts simply cannot be written to change the settings of third party plugins once that plugin has been activated by the script. But just to be sure I tried recording the KPT plugins in PSP8 and PSPXI (I dont have PSPX) and both returned the same kinds of data that we see with PSP2018. Just gobbledygook. It should be noted that some plugins do return their data, this is how Photoshop records its actions. Im thinking that, with regard to your last point, perhaps the difference is that Photoshop Actions are - I believe - written in JavaScript. I certainly dónt know enough abóut programming in ány language to dó anything more thán speculate, but pérhaps the JavaScript actións scripts are abIe to not onIy read and intérpret the data réturned by the pIugin but also continué to intéract with the pIugin oncé it is activated ánd pass that dáta back to thé plugin. I dont have a clue if Python could be written to do this - assuming, of course, that theres any possibility that my speculation is correct. But I wouId suspect thát it could bé possible given thát Python is aIso a powerful ánd flexible programming Ianguage. So calling a plugin from Python inside PSP is still run by PSP. And actions arént written in jávascript, believe me l wrote an actións reader.
